Atheism has a problem
...and the only way out is pretty weird.
It's the same problem that causes religious philosophers to proclaim that there must be a God; and physicists like Sean Carroll to declare there must be brute facts. But aren't religious philosophers right about brute facts? To me brute facts are no better than gods.
What's an atheist to do?
The answer is interesting I think - which is to reject the possibility that reality features self-identity at all. This is not nihilism, but ontic vagueness.
Where's the book?
If you are also interested in this sort of thing I hope you 'll find Ontic Vagueness: The Argument from Freedom accessible and interesting.
There's also a Kindle version. The only differences from the free PDF are that it's easier to read on a Kindle, has a nice cover, and supports a rogue philospher.
